While the OnePlus 7 Pro is a great smartphone and the upcoming Galaxy Note 10 will be too, some of you might be better off waiting for the OnePlus 7T or OnePlus 7T Pro later this year. An even better version of the already great OnePlus 7 Pro.
If you’re in the market for a new Android phone all of Samsung’s latest Galaxy S10 or Note 10 models are high on the list, as is Google’s Pixel 4. That said, the OnePlus 7 Pro really impressed a lot of people earlier this year, and we’re expecting even more from its replacement, the T upgrade.
In fact, the OnePlus 7 Pro is likely the best phone you can get right now, which makes its successor extremely exciting and worth waiting for.
And while OnePlus hasn’t confirmed a “T” model of the 7 Pro, almost every device they’ve ever released has enjoyed a follow-up in the second half of the year. The company uses the T variant to compete with the iPhone, Galaxy Note, and Google Pixel come November. Not to mention keep its devices up to date with the latest technology as the year progresses.
That’s where things get tough for the OnePlus 7T too though because it’s already ahead of the competition in several areas, so how will they improve what’s an already great phone? Well, that’s where we come in. This post will go over a few early rumors, what we’re expecting, then talk about what we want to see next with the OnePlus 7T and the OnePlus 7T Pro.

Honestly, we’re not really sure what OnePlus has planned for the OnePlus 7T or if they’ll even release a second OnePlus 7T Pro. The companies current phone is already better than most phones available now, OR the ones coming soon. It doesn’t have a notch, there’s a pop-up camera, and it has a huge beautiful 90 Hz display that’s arguably better than everything else it competes with. Samsung, Apple, nor Google offer 90 Hz displays, at least not yet. Personally, I think the way OnePlus will make the 7T better is by offering an even better 120 Hz display with the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro. Or, just an improved 90 Hz display with even smaller bezels. The OnePlus 7 Pro is a big and heavy phone. Personally, if they lowered it back down to 6.4 or even 6.5-inches, shrunk the already small bezels, and improved the screen, it’d make it even more difficult for Samsung to beat. Even with the Galaxy S11 in early 2020. Either way, the screen will somehow be better. It always is with the “T” release later in the year. Maybe part of that is an under-display front-facing camera so they can ditch the popup, or maybe that’s just an ultrasonic fingerprint sensor. We’ll have to wait and see. | |
